It's like a toss up every night who gets to sleep on this cushion, my labrador and pitty race to see who can get there first. I've removed the zip-off cover a few times to wash it but only when it's been barfed on, if it's just dog hair I use my Dyson's attachment wand and vacuum it which works great. I think I've had it for about a year and it has definitely squished down in the center but can be refluffed fairly easily. Overall, good dog bed.
