5Improvements make Braun Series 5 even better.
By Don S.
I've used Braun shavers for about 20 years (my first was a System 1-2-3). I've had several different ones since, ending up with a first-generation Series 7 Pulsonic. I was never convinced the Pulsonic was as good as the Activator it replaced. Maybe a year and a half ago, I started getting bad skin irritation on my neck after I shaved. I've tried several different things with varying degrees of success. And I'm using Nivea For Men Q10 face lotion moisturizer which has made a big difference.-A Philips-Norelco travel shaver I own showed promise, so I tried the Arcitec with lousy results and returned it to Philips.-The Philips-Nivea for Men shaver works really, really well, but I didn't like shaving in the shower and it took too long to shave in the morning. Also, no way you can use it dry in the car if you're running late.-Back to Braun. I picked up a MobileShave M60-B last Christmas at Wal-Mart for about $15. The new foil is huge improvement over the old Braun PocketShaver, but it leaves too many long hairs on my neck.-A traveling family member bought me a Braun Series 1 model that's sold in Asia, the 110. Other than color, the 110 looks just like the 150 you can buy in the US, but is powered by two AA batteries and has the new-style "Smart" foil. This is an impressive shaver, but again leaves some long hair on my neck.-Remembering how much I liked the old Activator, I decided to try the current Series 5 since it uses a similar foil and blade set up. I bought the old model 550. Bingo. Great shave like I remembered from my old Activator. It recharges quickly, and the lithium-ion batteries hold a good charge. I also like the way the 550 feels in my hand.-About a month ago, I found the new Series 5 Model 550-cc at Wal-Mart and decided to take the plunge. The new Optifoil is a definite improvement over the "Smart" foil which was darn good itself. Very close shave, even on the neck. I was happy with the original 550 (it doesn't have the clean-and-charge base), but I'm happy I bought this one. The new color scheme of solid black looks classy too, but the blue-plastic power button looks a little weak. (It doesn't light up like the button on my Pulsonic, and the package seems to show it lit. No big deal, but worth mentioning). This model continues to be made in Germany, and it looks and feels like it is very well built. With the new 550cc you get the clean-and-charge base, a travel case, and a cleaning brush. In the past year, I've probably bought more shavers than I have in the past 20. I suggest going for a Braun Series 5 and skipping the others. I think you'll like it.

5Much Improved
By Randall L Horst
I had two (and still have one) of the older model Braun shavers. The base used for charging and cleaning failed to close or latch after several years of use. The Shaver is slightly better. The base is the HUGH improvement because you just drop it in the the base. No arm to close or break! Break is too harsh they just stopped latching (both of my original based stop latching) and it still worked so long as I held it closed. By the way I did and you can purchase a replacement base (which is why I still have one of the old style Braun units)from Amazon. The cleaning cartridges are exactly the same and Amazon sells them as well! All that being said I guess you can tell I LOVE my Braun shavers because I purchased a third one!!Happy Day!

5Great Shaver
By Yardog
I can't understand why anyone would have a problem with this product. One issue I've seen in reading reviews is that it comes out of the cleaning unit still wet. If that's the case then you're doing something wrong. Clean it AFTER you shave; it's a 4 hour cycle. I haven't had to change the solution yet, but as long as it lasts I don't see that I will refill it myself like some have suggested. I do, however, take it out and reseal it in-between running cleaning cycles. After the cleaning cycle it's like using a brand new shaver again. The travel case is great, not one of those soft "Bag" type cases that simply hold the unit. This one will protect it when your suitecase is being abused by airport baggage handlers. I had been using a Norelco for over 30 years and switched to this unit after my brother bragged about how good it cleaned his neck; he wasn't lying. It does a great job cleaning around my jawline and neck and does an outstanding job trimming around my goatee. I found this on sale at Target for the same price they were asking on line, nice not having to wait for shipping. I would recommend the 500 series to anyone; well worth the price!!

5Shaving Bliss...
By IAMSLICK
I have had the benefit of owning the Braun 3-390cc, 3-370, and now the 7-760cc...all in the last 4 months. Before this I owned the 8585 Activator, and before that the 6520 Flex Integral. Before that I forget, but I have been shaving with Braun shavers for about 20 years. They rarely go bad...I just get enticed to buy the latest technology.I bought the 3-390cc about 4 months ago. Before I even had a chance to give it a proper review, TSA lost my shaving kit while inspecting my baggage, and so my shaver was gone. This shaver lacked power. If I skipped a day of shaving, it really bogged down on two days worth of stubble. I felt like I had to have my face 5 times to get everything. And the cleaning system was very rudimentary. If you dropped the shaver into the cleaning system and pressed the button to latch it in there, it cleaned the shaver automatically, whether it was dirty or not. Even if you just cleaned it a few hours ago. No "sensing technology". I don't believe the 3-390cc cleaner had a heated dry either because it would still be wet with the alcohol solution 6-8 hours later. Also, after only 3 months there was a build up of scum in the cleaner where the shaver sits. I opened up the shaver's blade cartridge a couple of times and it still had a few whiskers in there. I probably would have rated it 3 stars.Since TSA lost my 3-390 shaver, but I still had the cleaning system at home, I bought a standalone 3-370 with no cleaning system. I found out quickly it didn't work with the cleaning system from the 3-390cc. I inquired with Braun (P&G) and they said it should, but it didn't, so I sent it back. The 3-370 shaves exactly like the 3-390. I think it has one less LED indicator, and that's it.I decided this was a sign that I needed to look higher up in the Braun shaving lineup. I'm amazed I even found this shaver because Amazon's search engine is so quirky and doesn't provide this shaver as an option in the Braun Store. This is by far the best looking Braun shaver I have ever seen, and may be the best overall shaver I have ever owned. The 7-760 is MUCH more powerful than the 3 Series shavers. I shaved two days worth of stubble today like a hot knife goes through butter. This shaver has easily cut my shaving time in half. It does a much better job with neck hair that lays flat and is hard to get. The Pulsonic technology vibrates and almost gives you a face massage while you're shaving. Braun recommends that you set the Pulsonic strength level to high for the best shave, and they are right. I've noticed that this shaver allows me to get closer to my chin beard without pulling any of the whiskers out (ouch!). It has a much more precise feel to it. The pop out trimmer is a little unusual, but I have gotten used to it already and it does a good job.The 7-760 cleaning system is much better too. It senses the level of cleaning needed and reports what level cleaning it intends to do via an indicator light, but waits until you actually push a "GO" button. I really like this new feature because my 8585 had this sensing technology, but proceeded with cleaning as soon as you dropped the shaver into the cleaning system. The 7-760 cleaner is built much more like the cleaner from the 8585 Activator, and I think it does a better job than the new style of cleaner that comes with the 3 Series. No scum is accumulating in the cleaner, and not a single whisker is left in the shaver after it is done with a light cleaning. If you clean the shaver ever day it appears that it never has to do a deep cleaning, because I haven't seen one yet.Braun is skimping on the case and brush these days. The case is the same for the 3-370, 3-390 & 7-760. The 7-760 gets a little bit bigger brush, but that's it. No room in the case to take along the power cord. The cleaning systems for each model use the exact same Clean & Renew refills, which is nice. All in all, I recommend this shaver. If you've tried a cheaper Braun and aren't happy, take them up on their 60-day money back offer and get this one. I think you'll see a big difference. I wish the 7-760cc didn't cost me $220, but it appears I'm an early adopter, so maybe the price will come down.

1Good Razor worthless warranty service...
By LDM
Before you buy a gadget this complicated you should consider if it will really work and whether the manufacturer will stand behind it when it fails. This works fine as an ordinary razor. But the motivation for paying so much money is the automatic cleaning system. Well, I have news for you--that part is a piece of poorly conceived, poorly engineered, and poorly executed junk. The problem is not merely that the autocleaning function does not properly clear itself of cut hair, but also that the system itself will simply die on you unexpectedly. In my case after about 4 months of use. Of course the razor still works if you plug it in directly to charge the battery, but the loss of the maintenance system is a severe hit to utility.Worse, when you go to get the thing fixed you find there is no practical or convenient place to go. Braun does not maintain company supported service centers in the US and rather depends on a disorganized set of randomly and poorly accessible private vendors. For example, no one services Braun shaver products in DC or MD. The only servicers are private companies in Wilmington and Virginia Beach. So the only way to get this fixed is to deal with someone 3 hours away who isn't even a Braun specialist. The company itself provides NO SUPPORT to its customers. This is a BIG FAIL.

4Some nice improvements, shaves about the same...
By Nathaniel Allen
I replaced a 4+ year old Braun 8985 "Series 5 Pulsonic 360" with the recently released 7-760cc-4. Braun, why the confusing numbering? Seriously, the "dash 4" designation that comes after the 760cc is printed in such a way on the box that you really have to be looking for it to notice it. If you're not a careful shopper, you may end up with the previous "dash 3" version with the white base. From the descriptions I've read, there's not a whole lot of difference between the two versions -- expect the same shaving performance -- but again, Braun, why the complicated numbering schemes?Rather than write about the performance of this shaver, which is no different than Braun shavers that came before it, and covered in hundreds of other reviews, I want to point out some of the differences from my 8985 and the other Braun shavers of that generation, for those of you considering replacement. - The shaver itself is much smaller in diameter and easier / more comfortable to grip. This was easily my biggest complaint of the old Braun shavers -- the grip area was similar in cross section to a big bar of soap, and I really noticed it having switched over from a fairly slender & comfortable Panasonic. The hard plastic exterior is now covered in a slightly cushy rubberized covering. The overall ergonomics of the 760cc are imminently more hand-friendly. - The old slider switch (you know -- On > lock the pivoting head > trimmer pop-up) has been replaced. The new power switch is a glowing on/off push button affair. On either side of the push button are silver + and - buttons to control the shavers speed in three steps. With each change in speed, the power button glows more dimly or brightly. This, I believe, is the 3-stage "personalization mode" referenced in the product description. A bit bogus, I believe, unless you shave at other than full speed. In fact, their user manual recommends something to the effect of, "leave it at the '+' (full speed) position for day to day shaving". Regardless, it will turn on in whichever of the three settings you turn it off in. - Speaking of the pop-up trimmer, the trimmer is now disassociated with the power switch, and pops **out** from the shaver body. Its cutting surface is about half the length of the old one, i.e. very small. I'm trying to get used to it. The old trimmer took some practice to orient correctly while looking in the mirror, but in general, the shaver body itself was kept vertical. I only had to work at getting the shaver level around one axis. This new one -- jeez, it sticks out from the shaver body at a bit of at angle, and the cutting surface is arced a little like a kitchen chef's knife, and so I'm struggling a bit to twist it three different ways to get a straight cut while looking in the mirror. Probably a bit comical to watch, and hopefully I'll grow more accustom to it as the weeks wear on. Trimming cleanly around the ears is suddenly challenging. - The pivoting head can be locked in place with a slider switch now located on the side of the head. - The shape of the shaver, in general, is slightly banana contoured. The shaving head itself is canted inward -- not the straight "candy bar" approach of the older generation. Nice ergonomic change, though subtle. - The charge indicator is no longer just an LED -- there's now a whole clock dial type affair on the butt end of the shaver (or the top of the shaver when it's docked in the charging base). Moving around the dial, it shows 100/80/60/40/20% charge with a separate LED underneath each number (20% flashes red). Frankly, a bit gimmicky -- especially since it fully charges in an hour. This clock face also has an LED-lit reminder icon to replace the shaving foil & blade, which ought to illuminate every 18 months. - On the topic of charging, this model uses Li-Ion battery cells vs. Nickel-Hydride in the previous version. Both have a claimed 50 minute run time, and both charged in one hour. And the old model was still running pretty strong after 4 years of continuous use. I think the real improvement here was Li-Ion provides equivalent performance in a smaller, lighter package. It appears the shaver does not top off the charge every time it is set in the base, but instead charges only when the battery drops below a certain charge level. I assume this is done for battery longevity, but I don't know how to override it if I'd like a fully charged battery to take on a trip.[Edit 11/22: I may be wrong on the battery charging; not sure. I've yet to see my battery drop into the 80% range. so even though the charging indicators go dark when the base unit goes to sleep after 10 minutes (see below), maybe it's still topping off the battery? Not sure.] - The base unit has changed a bit, but it still does the same old thing as before. Same Clean and Renew cartridge refills. Cartridges slide in with a little resistance now, almost as if they're locking in place, but eh, what for? The push-to-clean / push-to-unlock switch of yore has been replaced with a big round "start" button. This means the shaver is no longer physically latched into the base when cleaning. The graphics are revised (gone are the "Eco," "Normal" and "Intensive" cleaning cycle indicators, replaced with icons of 1-drop, 2-drops and 3-drops of cleaning solution). There's a "check mark" graphic that illuminates when the cleaning cycle is complete. Cleaning & heated drying takes 35 to 45 minutes, depending on which cycle is (automatically) selected. - The cleaning cycle is 1/2 as quiet. The pump that circulates the cleaning solution is now pretty close to silent -- no more whiny squeal. But when the shaver switches on it's as loud as it was previously, which was about as loud as the whiny squeal of the circulation pump. So, like I said, half as loud. :) - An annoyance with the base unit is that it powers down after 10 minutes of inactivity. Walk away from it, and when you return, the only LED illuminated will be the one indicating the fluid level remaining in the Clean and Renew cartridge. Even the illuminated % charge indicator and the "check mark" LED indicating completion of the cleaning cycle go dark. I'm sorry, but I can't believe that turning off one or two LEDs is really saving anything but the most insignificant token amount of electricity. Why they bothered with a "cleaning cycle complete" LED is beyond me if it's only going to be lit for 10 minutes following completion of the cycle.[Edit 11/22: Ok, so it looks like I was wrong -- the fluid level indicator is lit if the shaver goes in crooked and doesn't maintain a connection with the charging contacts. Otherwise, the blue power button on the shaver itself is the only LED lit. When that happens, one press of the giant "Start" button on the base will get everything lit up again, indicating whether the cleaning cycle has been completed and displaying the charge level of the battery.] - The cord still can plug directly into the shaver for travel. The power connector is now a 90° plug that hugs the body of the base unit, no longer sticking straight out as it does on the older models, making it easier to set against the wall on a narrow bathroom shelf. The shaver still comes with a travel case, though it's a zippered / soft shell deal now (in some ways a nice improvement, as long as my shaver doesn't actually switch on while packed in my luggage). The cleaning brush has grown quite dainty -- thimble sized, you might say -- but, to counter that, this new model has better waterproofing so can more easily be rinsed out under the faucet. Although I never had a problem nor hesitation in water rinsing the old one when I took it on the road. - Most importantly, the 760cc seems to shave about the same as the 8985 it replaced. And in the end, that's what matters. Not quite as close as a razor, but good enough to get me through the day.

5Braun Series 7 vs. Panasonic ES-LA63 vs Norelco SensoTouch 3D
By Comdet
I've accumulated quite a few electric razors over the years, with the three most recent being the new models from Norelco, Braun and Panasonic. So, thought I'd do a comparison to perhaps help those who are debating between these high-end models. But first let's get a basic question out of the way: do you have to spend this much to get a good shave from an electric shaver? Absolutely not. Lower-end models such as the Braun Series 5, the 7000 and 8000 Norelco series and the Panasonic ArcIV are great shavers. What you get for the extra money is a slight improvement in the shave, a bit better design, and a few somewhat useful bells and whistles.Build quality - all are very nicely put together. The Braun feels the most substantial; the 3D feels the most "plasticy."Sound - the 3D runs very quietly; the Braun and Panasonic are far more "buzzy" but not too loud.Overall feel - for me, the Braun feels the most comfortable to hold. Easy to grip even if your hands are wet. The Panasonic is a close second. The 3D feels the most awkward. Not horrible, but not all that comfortable either.Dry shave: closeness - this is a tough call, with the Braun and the Panasonic both providing very close shaves. The 3D does a pretty good job, but my face does not feel as smooth as with the others.Dry shave: speed - the 3D is the clear winner here. Just mows through my beard, with a total shave time of less than 3 min. The Panasonic takes about 4 min for a good shave; the Braun clocks in at about 5 min.Dry shave: neck - this is the most difficult area for most shavers, and all of these models left a few errant hairs here and there. The 3D did the best but it comes at the expense of some irritation (see the next note). The Braun and Panasonic are about equal.Dry shave: comfort - Braun is the winner for me, followed by the Panasonic. Zero redness even in the more sensitive spots (jaw line and neck). The 3D left me with some red spots on my neck. Nothing severe, but it is clearly a notch below the others on the comfort meter.Wet shave - this is limited to just the Panasonic and the 3D. I'm not a big fan of wet shaving, but both of these do a very good job. The Panny works best with a very thin layer of gel-type cream; the 3D works best with a heavier lather (I got good results with Edge). Both provided close shaves, with the Panny a bit more gentle than the 3D. But, the 3D did a better job on the neck and jaw line.**Update: Just tried the new Remington Alphagel shaving cream and that works very well with both the Panny and the Norelco. The scent is a bit heavy (menthol) but the no-foam consistency is a perfect match for a wet electric shave. Much better than any other shave cream I've tried. I reviewed the Alphagel if you want more info.Maneuverability - this is where the Braun really shines for me. I have a mustache, and edging it with the Braun is a piece of cake. The 3D takes some practice, but it can do a decent job. Worst by far was the Panasonic - the huge head makes it very hard to create a clean edge around the `stash.Auto cleaning - I love the cleaning station from Braun. Works well, cleans well, and the razor comes out lemony-fresh. The Panasonic cleaning station is OK, but is louder, takes longer, and the water-based cleaning solution is not as effective. I can't comment on the 3D station since the model I bought didn't come with it.Manual cleaning - both the Panasonic and 3D are very easy to clean manually. They actually don't need the auto cleaning station (although it is handy for storage for the Panny). The cutters are removable from the 3D (unlike the Arcitec models) for extra cleaning every so often. The Braun can be cleaned with water, but it's hard to get it very clean since the cutter block is a single unit.Lots more that I could say about these razors, but this review is already way too long. If I had to pick just one, I'd go with the Braun. While not perfect, it excels in several areas and feels the best. It also offers three settings (gentle, normal and intensive) that vary the speed of the cutters, a feature the other two lack. I find that very helpful. Plus, replacement heads are easily available and often discounted (as are the cleaning cartridges). But, the 3D and the Panasonic are also very good shavers and will get the job done. If you are willing to spend the money, any one of these would be a good choice.Note: I have the Braun 790cc-4 since I was able to get it at a fantastic price (on another site - sorry Amazon!) on Black Friday. But, under normal pricing situations, the 760 is cheaper and a better value. They work the same, with the differences limited to color of the razor, type of read-out on the handle, and the fact that the 760 lacks the "quick clean" feature in the cleaning station. None of these are really significant, so if you go with the Braun, pick the one that is cheaper. But, you have to learn how to use an electric razor properly to get a good shave. Some quick tips:1) Don't press hard - use an easy touch. If the heads are getting warm or hot, you're pressing too hard.2) Shave against the grain when using a foil; shave in circular motions when using a rotary.3) Stretch your skin taut when shaving your neck4) Wait at least an hour after getting up before shaving (everyone's face gets a bit puffy when sleeping).Happy shaving!>>Update June 2012: Thought I'd post an update after 1.5 years of use. No complaints at all - works as good as the day I bought it. I'm also pleased to report that I have not yet had to replace the foil. Although I have several shavers, this remains my favorite, and I have yet to find another shaver that provides the same blend of solid build quality, ease of use, and outstanding shaving performance. It's still a 5-star razor in my book.

5First shave out of box, stunning results!
By D. Smith
I've had a top of the line Braun 8000 series (8595) for about 6+ years. It just started to fail recently - I didn't feel like trying another replacement foil/blade and after over 2,000 shaves - I guess it's hard to complain. If this new one lasts the same duration, then it will be well worth the money for just over $0.12 per day plus consumables (cleaning solution & replacement foils).I opened this new shaver morning (790-CC4), charged it, and started using it. I like the variable setting (3-steps) for mild to intense. I like the feel of it and although the display is less sophisticated than my old one, this one might be more practical in usage. It has a Li-Ion battery and so is a bit lighter, and seems well-constructed.The real test is the shave - and this is the best result I've ever had from shaving with an electric. On rare occasions I'll use a blade for a special occasion and a blade is usually much closer than most electrics - but I've been okay with a slight sacrifice using an electric in the past. My face right now feels so shockingly smooth, I'd swear I shaved with a blade this morning... So the proof is in the pudding - and I'd wholeheartedly recommend this shaver if you're partial to electrics.

Braun Series 7- 790cc Pulsonic Shaver System, SilverI have been using Norelco razors since high school.I am now 65. Every 2or3 years for all of my adult life I have purchased the latest top of the line Norelco on the market. Way back many years I did buy a couple of other brands to check them out, but they always seemed like they were yanking the hairs out one by one , so I always stuck to Norelco. The last couple of Norelcos that I have had didn't seem to be better than the last. After doing lots of online research, and reading Conumer Reports I decided to try the 790-cc Braun. I was very skeptacle, but what the hey, you've got to try something different once in a while. I have been astounded at the difference. When people wrote that they got a shave as close as a blade, I fgured they were just rationalizing their purchaces. Well, they weren't. The shave is remarkable. It is quick, confortable and amazingly close. There are some negatives. The cleaning-charging system seems a little funky and the travel case is very flimsy compared with the Norelco. Other than those couple of minor details I really believe this is going to one of my best puchases ever. One other thing. This is the first product evaluation I have ever done, so i hope this isn't too long and has been helpful.

5Superb leverage like nothing else
By KL
Couldnt be more pleased. I picked up the bar from Artillery Tools for a kitchen floor demo. Unlike a normal pry bar..this tool is sharp, doesnt bend/flex, and provides excellent leverage. Based on its quality, it is the last demo bar I'll ever own.

Where Can I Buy Artist Club RG Japanese Style Razor by Feather

Artist Club RG Japanese Style Razor by FeatherBuy Artist Club RG Japanese Style Razor by Feather

Artist Club RG Japanese Style Razor by Feather Product Description:

  • razor
  • Country of origin: Japan
  • Please read all label information on delivery.

Product Description

Straight razor shaving can seem like a lot of work: the daily stropping, periodic honing and generally high maintenance of the blade can be a turn-off for those who are interested in this classic shaving method. But now there is a new option - Feather disposable Straight razors. The beauty of thse innovative razors is that you never have to worry about maintaining the blade - when it starts to pull on your skin during a shave, simply replace it with a fresh one. You can even choose from four different replaceable blades to suit your individual skin and beard type.

The Artist Club RG Japanese-style is a non-folding razor made of solid stainless steel with a satin finish. The razor handle is made of a special polymer that is exceptionally heat and chemical resistant. You can sterilize it in boiling water, sanitizing solutions, or even an autoclave.

The Feather's shave quality has proven equal to or better than that of professionally honed and stropped straight razors. While the Feather Razor is used in the same manner, its finer edge and substantial weight improves the shave quality by eliminating the tendency to add pressure to the blade while shaving. The Feather Razor shave will be the closest and most comfortable you've ever had.

4good build but hard to use
By BG
I have been using a DE type razor for quite awhile now, and always get a really good nic free shave out of them. But this razor will require a steep learning curve. If you have never used a typical straight razor before, you are going to cut yourself several times before getting the hang of this tool. Considering also that this razor uses Feather blades which are extremely sharp, and can be unforgiving to the uninitiated, please take your time and be careful. The build quality is excellent period. This razor will last you a very long time, and the one time cost and considering the longevity, I consider it a fair trade-off. The are several blade options available for this razor. I chose to use the pro blades, and they may be a bit to "pro" for me. All in all I do recommend the razor for its quality, but it WILL be difficult to use if you have prominent facial features, like a big clefted chin(my biggest cut zone).>EDIT

5Extremely close shave
By kurtfife
This razor along with the ProGuard blades gives me an amazingly close shave. I have been using a DE safety razor with feather blades, but this tool provides me an even closer shave. Highly recommend.

5AITOR jungle king 1 made in spain
By Vincent Sattani
You cannot buy them any more from manufacturer but ive owned mine for a decade. What it doesnt show on amazon is what it comes with. The sling shot built into sheath..liquid compass, skinner, fire striker etc.The saw back ive cut a tree down with. The stainless steel blade is just as good as MICROTECH,MercWorx, COLD STEEL etc.I spent $500 on mine so at $250 its a bargain for camping or bugout bags its an essential.

5PROFESSIONAL BARBER RAZOR
By Mac Maniac
Excellent razor!!!! Due to the fact that I'm a Master Barber, I recommend this razor to all professionals, because of sanitary regulations within the barber industry this razor is perfect. Great weight, excellent feel, exceptional shave!!! The ONLY drawback, the price of the injector blades from Feather!($20 plus for 20 shaves) The Feather blades are great but I can get an excellent shave on any of my clients with the Wilkinson blades the Personna blades or the Dovo blades and a $4 razor holder BUT I JUST HAD TO SPLURGE!!!!. A Camaro is nice but a Ferrari is the Ultimate and this razor is the Ferrari of razors!!! The weight of this razor is what gets me, feels like a conventional straight razor!!! I LOVE THIS RAZOR! And for those that knock this razor, you know nothing about it or probably can't afford it. Save the negative comments for something you actually have purchased and used. I OWN AND USE THIS RAZOR, THIS RAZOR ROCKS!!!!!!!

5Great razor to be used with caution
By Vladimir Kulenovic
Great razor. Sharper than anything out there. Coming from a straight razor this is much sharper than a Dovo can ever be, so you HAVE to be careful. On one of my first shaves I endured a really bad cut, went to emergency room to get it closed and it left a scar. However if you know what you are doing with it, it is great to shave with. I used the professional blades, but would recommend starting with a less sharper blade until you understand how this beast works. Absolutely no pressure should be applied and extreme angle control is necessary unless you want to hurt yourself. However if your technique is good, it will give you the closest shave possible.

5THE best disposable blade razor there is!
By O. Lannert
This is definitely a top-notch disposable blade holder - hence the price. It's well manufactured from excellent materials, no quirks at all.I love using it. It's extremely well balanced. The weight, the handling and the feeling during the shave being as close as you'll get to a real straight. The shaves are smooth and really close. However, it takes a bit of getting used to it. Don't expect superior results on the first try. These blades are sharp. And I mean SHARP!! Really. A bit too much pressure on the skin during shaving or a bit too steep an angle and your skin will be hurt - either with razor burn or even with a cut. It's easy to maintain:* Before the shave: Nothing to do. Just shave away...* If the blade gets dull (it will last at least 9 or 10 shaves): change it. A dollar a blade is fair!* After the shave: Rinse it with water, disinfect it (e.g. with rubbing alcohol), dry it with a towel. Done! The handle is made from resinated wood. Durable, nice in touch, water proof. It comes with just the right amount of friction between the handle and the "blade", but if you should need to correct that some time you can just loosen or tighten the screw. Its not riveted! There are several types of blades with different characteristics, just try them out to find the one that best suits you.I'm using the Feather DX quite a lot. Whenever I realize my real straight is not as sharp as it should be. When I'm on travel. When I want to...

5Awesome guitar!
By M. Wesley
I just got this last week. Just to clarify, this is the EC-1000T, and T stands for Traditional, which means like a Les Paul, it has 22 frets (vs 24 frets on other EC models) comes with Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro pickups in bridge and neck (not EMG) and is the full thickness of Les Paul, and unlike the other EC models, has no contours or beveling on back of body (like Les Paul) so it's a heavier guitar vs the other EC models. I love it. Awesome quality, sound, slimmer neck, and plays like a dream. The flame top is gorgeous, and the warranty is very nice. They don't make this model/color combo in 2012, just black or white, so if you're into the flamed cherry sunburst look, pick this up while supplies last. You will not regret it. I have been enjoying this guitar and it's fun fun fun to play. Way to go LTD!

5Classic guitar
By Analog
I did not buy my guitar from Amazon. This is a classic guitar. I really like the ESP neck carve. It is not the typical Gibson/Epiphone boat contour. It is made in Korea. FWIW, in my experience, MIK>>>>MIM and sometimes > MIA. The SD Alnico IIs are wonderful warm pups that let the amp sing. That said, if you have cruddy amp, well, your tone will suffer with this guitar. This guitar will bring out the best and worst of an amp. The ESP ECs have the SD 59/JB combo. This is a better high gain combo, but not to my tastes. If you want classic old school LP-like tones and like a more modern neck, well this is THE guitar (and pickups).

5WOW
By Outofshapedad
I own a Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro, two Fender strats and two ESP guitars including this ESP LTD EC-1000T/CTM in faded cherry sunburst. My favorite guitar among them all is this ESP - the reason is in the neck. The neck plays so easy and fast given it's shape - it's a pleasure play and I play best with it. The tone with the Seymour Duncan pickups is really terrific as well. The materials and quality of this guitar are equal to my Gibson Les Paul; although the ESP stays in tune longer than the Gibson. I think the figure and looks of the flamed maple top compares best to the higher-end Gibson Les Pauls. At half the price of what my Gibson cost - this guitar and the rest of the ESP line is really worth checking out.

The photograph describing the pants are for the "Mantra" not the Motion. The motion pants have far fewer pockets, but serve the same purpose. I should have done the research before I submitted my order.
