Are you one of those dads that shops around looking for that great gift for your kid? A gift that is not only fun and entertaining, but also gets YOU in on the action...Well...That's me. I start looking around. Then I start to play with the toys. And then ultimately I'm picking the toy that I think is really cool. Yeah - I'm still a big kid.Rok Works is that kind of toy. It's a toy that gets me in on all the excitement with my kids. When you open the box you are mesmerized by the girder building system and immediately start to see how everything snaps together. Your child looks on and starts out building a square, then it's a cube, and soon a whole chain of cubes. Wait... Weren't we supposed to read the instructions? Now it's time to sit back and enjoy while your child takes on their new role of construction site manager.But - the remote control construction vehicle starts calling your name and your new manager decides it's time for a little R/C driving action. You quickly get the batteries in place. You did remember the batteries didn't you? The set requires 9 AA... Your child grabs the bag of red and blue roks (little plastic balls) and strews them about the floor. The controller ends up in their hands, the loader fires up, and starts racing toward the Roks. You're amazed at how deft your child is with the controller. Looks and feels just like their favorite video controller. Only this one brings the game to them.When is going to be my turn?Rokenbok is tough and built for serious hours of fun and entertainment for the whole family. Soon you will be looking for more parts and expansion sets to add on to your structures. Do yourself a favor this holiday season. Get the Rok Works starter set and add on at least one more controller and a power sweeper Power Sweeper Value Pack. The more people that get in on the action, the more intense the fun. We're very disappointed with this purchase. It's just not durable, whatsoever! It was exciting and fun assembling the set with our 5-year-old son, however, after a couple of days, it has come apart...even Legos stay together better. Definitely not worth the $140 +/- we paid for it.

We got Rok works and construction set thinking it would be a huge hit with my nine-year old. To our surprise, it was also a hit with his six year old sister! I love this product because the two of them actually play TOGETHER for hours. They build really cool creations and then play with the remote control vehicles. It has been a real hit in our house, and anytime we can find a toy that appeals to both of them, i am happy!
