The Ultimate Showdown series is DC Direct’s unique, new interactive concept for high-quality collectible statues featuring the world’s greatest heroes and villains squaring off in deadly combat. Green Lantern delivers a green energy blast to Sinestro, as the Corps’ arch-nemesis burns with yellow fire. Each character is displayed on a specially designed stand-alone base intended to “interact” with the other statues in the series and to be displayed in a myriad of ways. The statues can pivot independently on their bases and rotate their heads to customize and direct the action. Collect all the other statue sets in the series. Mix and match them to create your own showdown or combine them all in one ultimate battle scene. These hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain statues measure approximately: Green Lantern: 7.35” high x 4.5” wide x 5.25” deep; Sinestro: 8” high x 4.5” wide x 5” deep. Round Two!! Ding Ding!!

Wow. End review. Anyone who reads my reviews may have twigged onto the fact im a big Green Lantern fan. Big. So lets get started from the ground up. The base is very study and on the bottom all pieces have a I.D number such as 0457 of 1500. Thats right only 1500 of these things in the world. SO STOP READING THIS AND BUY NOW. The base is designed with a counter sunk groove wich houses the base of the statue wich sits in flush and allows the statue to swivel smoothly in a 360 degree rotation. The paint work on the bodies is 10 out of 10, with attention paid to texture and detail down to the perfect tiny fear emblem on Sinestros left arm band. Solid blacks and solid yellow and greens, the paint work pops with the visual intensity that rebirthed Green Lantern as the most eye catching super hero in print today. The pose (while fixed) shows Hal Jordan standing his ground, face stern, full of will and determination, the ring on his right hand sparking with green energy as he is about to unleash with pure power and percision. With 2 tone hair, 9 out 10 facial detail, 10 out 10 paint work, Hal Jordan is fuled and ready for the oncoming onslaught of his greatest enemy, Sinestro.The statue of Sinestro is flawless. The costume and paint work on the body is excellent, with the pose (fixed again) has Sinestro leaping foward, leaving the crackiling yellow energy of fear smoking in his wake. With the most detail ever crammed onto a tiny head, Sinestro snarls to life. 4 tone paint work in the eyes, perfect detail in the trade mark pencil thin mo, and a hair cut that denotes a millitary, hard edge slant on the character, Sinestro leaps from page to toy in 10 out of 10 fashion.But beware!!!!!!!! These two pieces are fragile!! A recent accadent involving my cats getting into my toy room and knocking stuff over, saw Sinestro lose both his arms, Hal lose 3 fingers and a arm, me having to buy another set (because i will not live my life without this fantastic statue) and some very spanked and sorry kittens.While slightly poseible, this is not a toy. Display only and not cat resistant, this is a must must must have item. Must.Black Monkey sez 5 out of 5.

An exciting new premise from DC Direct brings Green Lantern and Sinestro together in a 'showdown'. A+!!!

DC Direct has done some amazing things over the years, and they are known for their innovation in the making of their statues. The new Ultimate Showdown line is another certain hit for the company, and it brings a few old ideas together in a new way. For starters the new sexagonal bases allow the other statues in the same series to interact together in numerous ways, whether it be with the paired enemies of the set, or with different pieces from other of the sets in the series. Secondly, the heads swivel, allowing for further customization of the posing. Lastly, using the same processes that they used in the DC Dynamics pieces, there are plastic pieces which mimic the powers, like Sinestro's yellow fear fire, or Green Lantern's emerald blasts. Really, you're getting two statues for one price here, since there are actually two pieces in each set. They both stand over 7" tall, and the sculpts are fantastic with vibrant paint jobs. Other sets include Superman and Bizarro and Batman and the Joker, with more sure to come as these limited edition pieces sell out. They look amazing on my display, and the picture on this site or the box just does not do them 'justice'. Though a bit pricey, they are worth every penny, and I don't think you'll be disappointed if you add these to your collection. Thanks so much for your time folks. Sincerely, R.A. McDowell
