DT system training collar.

The collar is great. It's made well. The remote is a little big, but nice and easy to use. The problem I have with this system is that you CAN NOT adjust the vibration sensitivity. I got this for my deaf dog so I could call him with the vibration and he hardly responds, especially if he's running around. The shock part is fine. Can be adjusted. But that doesn't help in my situation. Besides that, it's a great system.

Rugged e-collar with humane vibration

I've been using this collar for about 3 years now. I am a pro so it get's used a lot, year round. I really like the humane vibration feature.Pro's:* The range is listed as 1.3 miles which sounds like too much but if you are handling your dog in the woods, you can cut that range by about 2/3rds. The reason is that all collar manufacturers test it 'line of sight', meaning no obstacles. You should always get a collar with a range 2 or 3 times what you need just for this very reason. Because of this one's very high range, it will work at closer ranges in the heaviest of woods / grass / brush.* It's waterproof. Transmitter and collar.* It has a PROGRAMMABLE panic button, very nice. Most collars out their do not have this feature.* It has an automatic self rising stimulation feature. Awesome for dogs that CHASE.* It has a beeper that has 3 separate ways to use it. The first use is as a "pager" - you press a button and it beeps as long as you hold the button - you release the button, it stops. The second beeper use is what they call "run/point". It beeps on its own about every 9 seconds while the dog is running (it has a motion sensor) and once every 2 seconds if the dog stands still. The third beeper use is "point only" which means it only beeps every 2 seconds when it detects the dog is no longer moving.* It has the human "Positive vibration" feature. When you press the corresponding button, the collar vibrates - it does not shock. This is awesome for using vibration as a form of praise or you can use it as an early warning. I have info on how to use it at brittanys dot com free training tips page.* The transmitter and collar are rechargeable with the provided a.c. charger.* It has 50 e-stimulation levels so you can find the most humane level of stimulation that gets the dog to listen to you without hurting the dog.* No external antennae, its in the collar itself.Con's:* The lettering on the transmitter might rub off over time. If you are a casual user, it shouldn't be a problem. If you are a frequent user, you'll remember anyway.* If you have a dog with a small neck, you will need to have DT systems move the beeper for you. It's a free service.* The Display window can get scratched but ordinary clear cell phone adhesive covers solve that.Bottom line is that it is a tough professional grade e-collar system. It won't break if you drop it or it gets wet.In an effort for full disclosure, I first used DT products about 5 years ago and really liked their launchers and tough collars with the vibration feature. Since then, I joined their product testing staff and have been using their products since then.
