I am a beginning guitarist, however, I am already very familiar with guitars by doing reports on them, visiting different stores to talk with workers, and doing online research; and from what I know, this guitar is amazing!!!Looks: This guitar is most certainly awesome looking. If I was to search for a guitar based on looks, this guitar would deffionately make it to the top ten. It has an epic red color that looks unique and origional, but at the same time, it has a natural appearance that fits an acoustic guitar. My Jay Turser did not have a pickguard on it, but I bought it at my local guitar store, not on Amazon.Sound: It has a decent sound. I am not very familiar with how other aucoustic guitars sound, so I can't give a very good review on its sound. However, from what I can tell, it rocks (literally). I play multiple styles of music from Taylor Swift (country) to Three Days Grace (metal) to All Time Low (alternative) to Michelle Branch (pop). I especially love to play blink-182 songs on it!!! It sounds great with any style you prefer.Shape: It has a great shape that is easy to play. It has a cutaway, something that is really helpful when playing songs like Lollipop by Framing Hanley, Jasey Rae by All Time Low, or other songs that venture pretty far up the fretboard.Electric Tuner: As a beginner, I am a huge fan of the self tuner!!! I am self taught and no one in my family plays guitar, and it is really helpful to have a tuner built into it that I can take with my guitar EVERYWHERE. Also, I move between different houses frequently, so it is really nice to have it somewhere that I won't lose it. (I tend to lose things very easily.)All in all it is a great guitar, especially for beginners!!!
