You've probably seen this massive figure at your local Toys--Us, but likely not the "dark variant' version. This version much more closely resembles the color scheme on the box's packaging (same packaging for both versions)and also comes with a variant version of the Silver Surfer. The Surfer figure is made from a more opaque, quasi-translucent plastic that looks different (and cooler) than previous Marvel Universe versions of the figure.At nearly 20" tall, the Galactus figure towers over all other Marvel Universe figures, including those "build-a-figures" from the now defunct 6" Marvel lines. The head and eyes light up a dull orange color when the chest button is pressed. He also "speaks" about 10 different phrases when the button is pressed, and the voice used is clear, a decent volume, and most importantly--it sounds like a voice that would belong to the devour of worlds.The only complaint I have is the articulation. There's zero articulation on his hands, and for a figure this size I expected it to be much more poseable. At this price (especially for the variant version) the manufacturer knows this is more for collectors than kids, but it is a durable piece and not only looks good on a shelf, but would hold up in a kid''s playroom as well.

It was all that my grandson wanted and met all expectations! It was the last gift behind the tree and he noticed it after all the gift giving was complete and saw his name. He loves it!
