My fiance took a big risk and gave me these boots for my birthday. I wear a size 8 EE and have a terrible time finding shoes that fit and an even worse time getting boots because my calves are large too. I tried this boot on in a boot store in both an 8.5C and a 9C. The 9 was very loose and immediately comfortable but I was concerned that it would be too loose and would rub blisters. The 8.5 was very difficult to put on and was very, very tight around my arch but the heel was loose and the sole was wide enough to support my entire foot. (This is very unusual for any shoe). The salesman explained that the 8.5C was giving me the correct fit and would need to be broken in.On Monday my fiance surpised me with the 8.5C boots. Tuesday morning I wore very thin socks and took several minutes of pulling to get my feet into the boots but they felt okay. As I drove to work, my left foot started cramping severely because the boot was so snug around my arch and I thought I had made a mistake. However, by the time I made it to work (about an hour), the cramping was subsiding. By the end of the day, the boots felt like they had been made for me. They were ver comfortable and not too hard to take off. I received a lot of compliments on the boots. The lizard and goat skin compliment each other and the inlays are beautiful. I've never had shoes or boots with that long pointed toe and it really slimmed the look of my feet. I can't wait to take them out on the dance floor to really break them. A day of walking around at the office isn't quite enough. Overall, I am very pleased with these boots and will be looking for another pair in a different color in the future.
