ALC Saddlebags manufactures premium leather goods for the powersports industry. Their product line offering includes motorcycle bags and accessories. ALC Saddlebag products are made in the USA in Manitowoc, WI. They use only the best cuts of the leather from the cow which is why it is called premium leather. The bags are made of full grain (one piece) leather and not split into pieces (split grain). The bags are drum dyed. Instead of spray painting only the outer layer of the leather to add color, the leather is soaked in giant vats so that all the leather takes on the color of the bags. ALC saddlebags and leather products will not fade crack or peel and why they look as good in three years as they do the first day you put them on your bike provided you take care of them with good leather care products.

I got the Panama bolt on Vinyl saddle bags for a 2005 Triumph Bonneville and I was not disappointed. I was worried the vinyl would look like cheap imitation leather, but it doesn't. The vinyl covers hard plastic panels to keep the bags from deforming. The buckles on the side are a facade, hiding plastic clips that are easy to open and close. They aren't water tight, but should be ok in a light drizzle. The bags are wide enough for a half helmet, or a gallon of milk and they offer plenty of room for a weekend trip. My only concern is how long the plastic clips will hold up, but I expect these bags will last as long as the seat on the bike.They barely fit between the shock and the rear signal light (maybe half an inch to spare) so make sure you don't go too big for your bike.
