I carefully took my head measurement and compared it to the Giro helmet size chart. I fell right into the low end of the medium range. However, when I purchased a medium size of this helmet, it was uncomfortably tight, even with the thinnest pads added. I reordered in the large size and had to put in the thickest pads. It is still a little big but allows me to wear a thin hat underneath comfortably. I've tried other Giro helmets and didn't have this problem so I think it's unique to the Encore II.Aside from the sizing issue, the helmet is great. I do like that it includes 3 sets of removable pads with varying thicknesses. It also kept my head warm on some snowy, windy days. Much more so than a hat would. It's comfortable and inexpensive but not at the expense of safety. I've smashed my head into the mountain an embarrassing number of times and each time, was thankful I had this to protect me!

It fits great, I got a size large. It is smaller than the other Giro Styles. My husband has a large in another style but is too big for me. This is sized for women. The color is nice, kind of a light blue/green.
