5Great Guitar and Great Value
By L. Dimen
Amazing guitar. Goodbye twang and hello double humbuckers. It delivers that metal sound but in a Fender neck. Simplified controls from the usual Jaguar and no funky tremolo bridge, in my opinion, an improvement. My only complaints are cosmetic, I would have preferred a maple fretboard option instead of the rosewood and chrome knobs, but I still gave it 5 stars. I think it's a great alternative to Epiphone/Gibson LP/SG axes for those of us partial to the Fender neck. You can't beat the price either, cheaper than a typical MIM strat/tele, I would definitely look into the Blacktop series.

5A good guitar
By bobk
I have no problem with this guitar which is magnificent. The problem I have is with Amazon. I received the guitar today. The frets extend over the fretboard from 1mm to 2mm. I called Fender and they told me that this is called sharp frets. The guitar was shipped from Arizona and if the storage is not properly humidity controlled, this can happen. They gave me a phone number to an authorized Fender dealer in my area to have it repaired at no charge. This is better than returning it to Amazon and possibly receiving another damaged guitar. The guitar cannot be stored in a dry environment to quote Fender. I don't want anyone to be discouraged in buying this guitar but I would ask Amazon where it is being shipped from.

4Good sound and playability, bad electronics
By CHUS01 Fan
This guitar looks cool and is comfortable to play. It sounds great for what it is, a humbucker-based high output rock machine. I like the choices Fender made as far as layout and switching. It's as no-nonsense as you can get, and you get a solid Jaguar body and nice Fender neck (though not as nice as my Strat neck).I'm docking it a star because I had the 3-way toggle switch fail already, and I had to replace it. While I was in there I also replaced the output jack. Overall I was unimpressed with the wiring and soldering quality in there. It was bound to fail eventually. They also forgot to ground the 3-way switch, which gave it noise that went away when I installed the new switch correctly. I also don't like the taper on the volume and tone pots. They are both linear taper and don't do enough when they are between 5-10, which makes it hard to back off on the volume and get nice clean sounds out of the instrument.
