4Blueridge BR-60T: First Impressions
By William D Drake
I've had the BR-60T about a month now. When it arrived, it sounded like what it was, a guitar fresh out of the box, brash and clangy. I was glad to hear that it's a loud little guy. The woods are attractive, with a nice inlay strip in the back, and all the finish work is immaculate. It does not come with a case; however, I had a spare classical-size case (also Martin 00 or the Gibson B series), and with a towel or two, the Blueridge fits pretty well. The Blueridge arrived unscathed, but I am concerned about Amazon's packing. The BR-60T was double-boxed, but with just a bit of wadded paper in the outer box. If I had bought this a month later, when temperatures were reaching 110 with a THI higher still (Texas in August 2011), there could have been some serious heat damage.Since I play GDAE tuning, and it came tuned CDAE, I took it to a local shop to have the nut slots widened to accommodate the heavier strings. Now, with almost daily play, the sound has coalesced quite a bit. It's developing a full and rich tone, serving well as accompaniment to just me, as well as blending well with my wife's piano. I think it's working out just fine.

5Impressive little guitar
By David Deacon
I've had this guitar for less than a week but have been enjoying it greatly. It was great right out of the box--I just tuned it up and started to play. I play Irish music and changed the strings for GDAE and it rings. It has plenty of volume, nice bass response, and a percussive attack. The neck is very easy to get around. The conventional wisdom of Asian instruments is that they need to have the action lowered at the nut, but I haven't found this at all with this guitar. The neck is fast with a comfortable shape. The fit and finish is very good. I haven't seen any finish problems, the Sitka top looks very nice and the Santos rosewood back and sides are pretty. Great instrument for the money.

5Sounds and plays great - and fine workmanship
By J. Gallagher
I bought the 60 to upgrade the woods and trim. The rosewood back and sides, along with the added detail touches are purely cosmetic. The sides and back are laminated. But, the cost of the 60 vs the base model 40 was not great and I very much enjoy the added touches. The workmanship is simply top drawer. The guitar is beautifully assembled without a spot of glue or blemish in the finish. I will need to do some minor set up changes - but I would do that on any guitar. The factory set up is very good. This is the first tenor I have played. I am surprised at the quality of the tone I am getting from this guitar. It is really quite a pleasure. I was concerned that without playing it in a store and just taking a guitar from inventory, I would not be pleased. But, my experience has been excellent and I am happy I went down this route.
