4My 2nd Voyage-Air
By JT
First, I rate it 4 stars because it comes with a plastic saddle. It is a much harder plastic than most cheap saddle though. Would have given it 4.5 but there isn't the option. I changed mine to a bone saddle. Other than that, I am totally satisfied with this guitar and would give it a 5 star rating for everything else.Bought a VAMD-02 used last year after seeing Voyage-Air on The Shark Tank and was pretty happy with it so I thought I would get a full-sized dreadnought after the good first experience. The VAD-04 sounds great and is now my primary guitar because it is so much easier to carry around and sounds good. I'm more used to a solid spruce top/solid rosewood back and sides sound so the VAD-04's solid spruce top/laminate mahogany combo sounds less deep. That's not necessarily bad, just different and in fact works better in an amplified mix with a band where some of my other guitars can tend to sound boomy. Been playing "live" on stage for 20 years and used the Gibson J45, Ovation Adamas, Taylors, Yamaha full solid LJ/LL series, Martins, etc and this is now my favorite.Regarding travel, this fits easily into the overhead compartment of bigger international flights but I struggled to fit it into the overhead on a Delta domestic flight, finally managing to squeeze it in after removing everything else (laptop, AC charger) from the case. So it does fit. No such problem with the mini-dread VAMD series but I would prefer a full-sized guitar any day. The case is very good quality. Much better built than my several Targus laptop bags which fall apart from 2 weeks to 1 year. The price here on Amazon was great too. There was a 15% off music gear which made this cheaper than the price of a used piece on some other music store sites. Finally, I recommend you always carry a tuner with you unless you have perfect pitch and can tune by ear. The guitar does require a little tuning each time I take it out of the case. Nothing major but I have been singing, playing guitar and doing sound engineering for years and am very fussy about such things. It's almost a curse cos I step into any performance space and tend to start analyzing the acoustic space, mix, eq, playing, singing instead of just enjoying it!

5Great Guitar for Travel
By MarkFromWilmington
Bought this for a long flight with my family. I was delighted to be able to take a guitar with me. It was designed to go in the overhead storage. I kept the items in the backpack to a minimum and was able to put it under the middle and aisle seats on an A320. It would not fit under the window seat or a seat on a small plane. I assume I would have to gate check it on a small plane. (they do make smaller models designed to fit overhead on a computer flight.).Guitar plays well and is better than many sub-$500 guitars. Neck and frets are very nice, and tuners are fantastic. It stays close to being in tune after folding. Make sure to buy a small digital tuner that fold compactly as I did break the neck on a small intellitouch. I just picked up a planet waves mini.Make sure to check out the voyage air website to see the videos. Also read the description of the guitars and bags carefully as they are very helpful. For air travel it is much more convent than the backpacker and other long neck guitars, as you can carry it on and still take one other bag.

5Perfekter Kauf über amazon
By 1234
