I purchased this for my boyfriend and he loves it! He received compliments from the first day he carried it. It came beautifully wrapped. It is much nicer than I expected for this price. The slip out laptop sleeve increases the flexibility of this briefcase. I would recommend this briefcase.

Unlike the other reviewer, I don't find the clasps burdensome at all. If you're wearing the bag and have only one hand available, it's easy to unclasp one side, then the other, and access your items. The clasps are quite simple to use.The bag arrived in pristine condition and looked just like the photographs. The leather is supple and dark, the contrast stitching is lovely, and the pockets and compartments are useful. It fits everything I need, including my laptop, charger, book, pens, phone, wallet, and keys. And it's not as heavy as I was expecting a leather briefcase to be.To me, there are three small downsides, but none warranted a return.--First, the material in the pockets and compartments makes a crinkling noise when you retrieve items, so it's not the most discrete bag to use during a meeting.--Second, it's somewhat larger and more formal-looking than I was hoping for. I was hoping for a leather alternative to a messenger bag, and this is really more of a briefcase. I look slightly odd carrying a sizable briefcase while dressed casually, but I like the bag so I don't much care.--The closure system leaves little leeway for overstuffing. If you fill the bag too much, the clasps will not close and will clack against each other while you walk.

The goodThe inside of the bag was fantastic. The lining was in great shape and looked terrific. The pockets were large enough and there was plenty of room for all. The laptop sleeve was a great idea and a great addition to the bag. The outside back pocket has a magnet that holds it shut which I thought was great.The badThe bag had some blemishes on the outside. You could tell that the bag had been sitting in a warehouse for some time because the leather looked very aged and had some dust on it. The outside of the bag also had very tiny dots of (what looked like) white paint in some small areas. Aside from the blemishes on the bag, which I could have looked over because of how small they were, the main complaint I had was the flap or the "way to get in to the bag". Not shown in the picture are two buckles just below the flap. After you buckle the flap down, you then pull the two leather straps over the flap and through the metal "hoops". Although this is a very secure way to attach the flap, it presents an awkward and lengthy time trying to get in and out of the bag itself. If I was on the train or away from my office and needed to get a paper, my phone, tablet, etc. I would need two hands to get in and would need to set the bad down. This is just too much for what I need.Needless to say, I returned the bag the same day I received it in the mail. The seller was ebags and they were VERY speedy and prompt with both shipping the item and accepting a return. I guess my search for my perfect messenger bag/briefcase/laptop bag is back on!!
