The Paragon Art Studio Lamp is a quality purchase for the money. Studio lighting in general is quite expensive, with lamps in this price range offering far less versatility and lower wattage. So I purchased this lamp at a risk with only one review on record. Glad I made the move. Pros: (1) A 300 watt A-Lamp capacity, (2) An industrial porcelain bulb socket, that is adjustable within the shade for an increase or decrease in light output, (3) An industrial heavy metal shade with solid metal socket housing, (4) A silver reflective paint within the shade significantly increases the throw of light, (5) The shade and socket housing swivel vertically and horizontally, (6) The tripod stand offers a multitude of options on height ranging from 3' to 7' plus. The negatives for this lamp were minor. Cons: (1) The metal shade paint finish has slight paint over spray where silver and black paint finishes meet, with a few finger prints embedded in the paint during the manufacturing process, (2) Worth noting is the tripod footprint requires a minimum 28" x 28" x 28" triangle of floor space for stability. Overall I give the Paragon Art Studio Lamp high marks and 5 Stars!

I chose this lamp because I needed it to do art work. The price was really great and when the lamp arrived I was so happy. It is well made and I love it. I have no complaints about this item. The people who shipped it were great. They emailed me to check on the correct address to mail it to.
