5Great value here.
By Johnny
Great guitar here, definitely what I would call a sleeper. I play all kinds of music but I wanted something versatile enough to cover the heaviest of heavy and the jazziest of the jazz. I was originally looking in the price range of $700-$1,000 for a guitar. Tried many gibson specials and studios, fender jags and teles, prs se's. I was about to purchase an $800 dollar guitar and somehow came across this Blacktop HH tele. So second guessing my jag decision I scoured the internet for reviews, samples, the works. Without playing this guitar, but playing a blacktop strat and normal teles, I decided to take a shot and order this off of Amazon. Nothing about the lower price between this guitar and others influenced my decision. I always try to pay top dollar for music equipment because in my opinion you get what you pay for. Mainly what influenced me was the fact that I love tele bodies, I prefer maple necks (I went with the one piece sold maple maple neck option), and I prefer something with humbuckers so I have more options. Now to the good stuff... Out of the box this guitar needed no set up. I'll take it in to the local shop anyway just to have it super tuned and such, but Near perfect as far as that goes. The strings are normal factory light strings that I'll be switching out anyway. The usual. The pickups are pretty huge sounding. Very hot. Everyone has their personal tone preference, but these pickups surprised me. My plan was to throw some p-rails in eventually but after hearing these things growl I'll definitely be putting that off a bit longer. I got the black model and it looks in real life exactly as it looks in the pictures. It is a very great looking guitar but seems to give off a vibe of "I'll melt your face if you let me". I let the old man plug her in and test out the clean sounds (he has a '68 tele). And he enjoyed playing it. These pickups still trap some of that tele twang. All in all, I took a shot in the dark when purchasing this guitar (which I normally would NOT recommend doing), however, I am sold on MIM fenders. I'm a big MIJ fan but this single guitar has changed that. To make a a long story that I just typed out short...buy this guitar and you may not be not enjoying it as much as me.

5How can this be?
By Heywood Jablowme
I'm an experienced player with several decades of playing and performing experience under my belt. I've owned many high end professional grade instruments over the years including Gibson Les Pauls and American Fenders. This little guitar has to be the best dealing going for the money. I've seen lots of comments about swapping out various parts, electronics and pick-ups and there's no doubt the instrument would benefit from some upgrades but I can tell you this... nothing needs to be upgraded for this to be a useful addition to your guit-arsenal. Straight out of the box, I tuned it up and dialed up some very tasty tones. I plugged directly in to my Hot Rod Deluxe set on the clean channel. Guitar, cable, amp. The pick-ups sounded great in every position but I especially loved the middle position with the volume rolled back to about 8 on the guitar. Tonal bliss. Just pure butter. The fit and finish were of a quality that you would never expect at this price point.
