I recently switched from the DEG Brian Bowman BB1 to this mouthpiece. What a huge change! I had to switch because I felt the BB1 was beginning to get too small on my embouchure. The BB1 is a good mouthpiece, I've played on it for two years, but it was time for a change. This mouthpiece is WAY BETTER! It's a bit bigger on the rim, but it fit my lips perfectly. It's dark, smooth, thick, and just the right combination of it all. I took it in with my lessons instructor at my university and played partials 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of the Bb partials and he said it's the most amazing euphonium mouthpiece he's heard, and he can't stand most Denis Wick mouthpieces as well. In his words, "It's amazing! It's the only mouthpiece I've heard that is tenor tuba thick on bottom, euphonium singing on top, and a mix of the both in the middle!"Needless to say, this is a amazing mouthpiece, I give it my recommendation and it will probably be the only mouthpiece I use for a really long time.Jonathon RomeroEuphonium Major/ SoloistUniversity of Louisiana - Lafayette

Recently I contacted Glenn Van Looy, whois the best euphonium player that I have everheard,go in YouTube and check him out playing"Glen Gliding" and you will see what I mean.Glenn plays on the triple gold plated model, he thinks thatgold is easier on his lips.On the strength of his comments and reading commentsfrom top euphonium players, I decided to buy the gold plated model.My Comments:1) The mouthpiece produces an even sound from the extreme high notes, all the way down to the pedal notes.2) The small inner radius is very easy to adapt to and helps with attack and note production.3) The weight of the mouthpiece reduces overtones and produces a solid big sound.I have played the euphonium for 57 years and have achieved a fairAmount of success,Having played on this mouthpiece for over a month, I wouldHighly recommend it.
