I used these for hiking in Yellowstone in June... First I wore them 'around town' to break them in.They really didn't need break-in time, though. Really really comfortable.I know when I get a good pair of walking shoes~~when I do not have to 'think' about how my feet feel while I am walking. That's what these shoes are like.I own about 4 pairs of Keens now--different styles--and I just ordered a pair of Winthrop Keen boots online.I am a Keen fanatic now....

So far they are very comfortable and I'm looking forward to testing them out this summer when I go hiking. I usually wear a size 5, but I ordered a 5.5 so I can wear thicker socks.

By Kristine J. Victorino
After a short break-in period, I finally took these hiking shoes on a 6-mile trail in the Mojave National Reserve near Baker, CA. There was varying terrain, sand, jagged rocks, slick rocks, dirt, etc and substantial elevation changes and not to mention that it was 6 miles long. Almost 24 hours later and my feet don't feel sore at all. I had purchased another name-brand hiking shoe before these and developed a painful blister on my arch after 2 miles and I could barely walk for a day. Plus my toes had felt they were in vice grips during each step. These were less than half the price of the other pair that I returned. I will be purchasing Keen's from now on.
