After researching heated mattress pads I had decided on "Soft Heat Velour Heated Mattress Pad." I received it and it was terrible. It would not stay on the bed with its poor elastic base and it was like sleeping on a piece of paper. I sent it back immediately. Then I found this one! It has actual thick padding which feels wonderful. It feels like a pillowtop and adds a soft comfortable feel to the bed. The heat is great and warms quickly. It is a lot like a heat blanket but under you. I set it on high for about 15 minutes just to take the chill off of the bed and it works great. It fits the bed and stays in place. The elastic that wraps around the mattress is tight and effective and will fit any depth of bed as far as I can tell. So if you want a soft pad with actual thickness to it then this is the one! I love it! I am getting another one for my guest bedroom bed.

My wife and I are very happy with this product, although there is still room for improvement. The pad itself is very high quality. It's nice and thick and feels heavenly to sleep on. We've never had a pillow top mattress before and we both love it. It's harder than ever to get out of bed in the morning! The heating wires are under the pillow and we cannot feel them at all. Also, the plug where the electric cord attaches to the pad is well-placed and we can't feel that either. The elastic skirt that holds the pad to the mattress is tight and stretchy so the pad stays exactly in place. We don't see any problems at all with the actual pad.The controls are useable but this is where some improvements should be made, especially considering the cost of this product. The on/off button is not lighted, nor are the two buttons that increase and decrease the temperature setting. The controls and especially the buttons feel cheap and flimsy. Everythng else (including the cords) feels durable and high quality. The brightness of the temperature display is just right (fairly dim).Another problem with the controllers is that attaching the cords to the back forces the controller to face forward instead of toward the bed, making it harder to access the controls while in bed. I can envision at least two solutions to this problem; having cord attachment points on both sides of the controller depending on which side of the bed it was to be used on, with the unused attachment point plugged, or attaching the cord in the back using an "L"-shaped plug (like a headphone jack) that can be rotated.After using electric blankets for over thirty years, I'm glad we tried a heated mattress pad. The heat is more evenly distributed and there are no hot spots where a blanket would touch your body. Since the pad doesn't move it's much easier to make one side of the bed cooler or warmer than the other. This pad has definitely improved our comfort and quality of sleep.

This pad truly is soothing. After having many mattress pads over the years (they generally last two years) I looked for one that was guaranteed. This is not a heating pad, as the other brands I had purchased previously. It stays warm and the pillow top is comfortable, even on our pillow top mattress. Thank you for a good quality product.
