The first set I received had a major defect on one of the earrings, so I had to return them and reorder. Fortunately, the second set were in absolutely perfect condition and they are beautiful, made in Italy. I have purchased many pieces of jewelry from Amazon and these might be my favorite purchase. Also, generally, the pictures portray jewelry as being larger than it actually is. In this case, it's the opposite, these earrings are actually quite a bit larger (longer) than they appear in the photo. They are a tad slimmer, but longer.What you can't see in the photo is that these are super-shiny yellow gold inside the hoop and they give off a lot of shine! The gift recipient was thrilled and I wished I had a set for myself. Maybe add them to my wishlist?The card that came with them said they are made of higher-end alloys (Duragold) combined with the 14k to provide a lifetime of shine without the need to use a cleaning cloth. We'll see. I love the multi-color gold, though. It goes with all of your jewelry. As stated before, this is a gift I kind of wish I'd kept for myself!The earrings are elegant, timeless, and very well-made.
