I recently purchased this bag and used it for a cross-country airplane trip with my dog, a 12-pound schnoodle.The bag is very stylish in appearance, and the materials are of good quality. Its height was fine for sitting under the seat in front of me without getting squashed down. It was reasonably comfortable to carry through airport terminals, etc. The side handles fit nicely over my shoulder (shoulder strap is a little long for me, but I'm only 5'5"). The bottom of the bag has a sturdy panel that is great because it keeps the bag from sagging with my dog's weight. My dog seemed content inside, and had plenty of space. He really enjoyed being carried around when I let him poke his head out of the top.The major problem area with this bag is the mesh panel up top. The panel zips on both sides, so it is easy to get my dog in and out. However, the attachment at the end is only velcro. My dog could nudge his head against the top and push the panel open with only a medium amount of effort, so the bag is not really secure. This could easily be improved with a snap or buckle. My little dog is well-behaved, but a puppy or restless dog could continually try to escape. Also, the pull for the zippers forms a loop, which kept getting caught around my dog's neck when I was putting him in and taking him out of the bag.There are two solid panels that can be rolled back to reveal mesh panels for ventilation: one on top, and one on the front end of the bag. These are nice, but again, the velcro attachments are a bit problematic. The front panel cannot be rolled up tight, as the picture implies, because the velcro is located close to the end of the panel, so much of it hangs down over the mesh when it is rolled up. This makes it difficult to maximize ventilation when in warmer temperatures.Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. I might make some little adjustments myself (such as adding a snap) to fix the problems I describe above.
