I purchased this forend in order to mount an LED light and Magpul angled grip on my Mossberg 500. In order to use this forend I also purchased an action tube assembly from Havlin Sales since my 500 had the forend with the rails integral with the plastic grip. The tube assembly to use with this forend is the shorter 6 1/2 inch tube assembly. The ERGO forend is a tight fit on the action tube assembly but things assembled with little difficulty. I heated the forend in the oven and placed the tube assembly in the freezer for a while to make assembly easier. Both the light mount and angled grip installed easily on the rails. I also installed a 6 shell side saddle which mounts to the left side of the receiver. Apparently some forends can interfere with a longer side saddle when the forend is pulled back. In this case there is plenty of clearance and the combined result was exactly what I had hoped for. An excellent upgrade.
