Don't let the "Mini" scare you. You will be amazed at the big sound that comes out of this little Taylor. Not tiny at all. I bought this as my travel guitar. But I play at often at home, too. I would also highly recommend this guitar for a child aged 8-18 taking lessons and starting to learn. Its size and price are more manageable than a full sized Taylor for a beginner, but the quality makes it very playable. For a kid or teen starting out, this guitar won't frustrate a beginner like all those cheap guitars will, so the kid is more likely to stick with it. Then if they still don't stick with it, the guitar will have decent resale value. I am an adult intermediate player and I really like this for myself. In addition to full sound and playability, I like the craftsmanship and the mahogany wood. Very nice!

I checked out many Taylor GS Mini reviews before actually trying one at a local music store. I was impressed with the fit and finish that is typical of Taylor guitars. When I played fingerstyle and lightly strummed I was very surprised with the bass and the highs. I decided to purchase the mahogany model rather than the spruce top for the warmer tones and richer finish. I really like the semi-hardshell tan colored gig bag just like the bag that came with another pricier Taylor CE that I have. Don't be fooled by the smaller GS size the sound is BIG. The reduced scale and fast neck is great for my smaller hands. Check it out and you will be a convert.

I knew this guitar was the right one for me on the first strum. I tried out every small guitar I could find. None of them came close to the quality of the GS Mini. Everything about this guitar is fabulous. The tone,playability, design, and size, are impressive. The pickup is easy to install and works great. The price is exceptional for such a quality instrument. Overall an awesome instrument.
