I recently purchased this through Boat & RV Accessories, and have to say it is a pitch perfect performer! Unit meets every single specification, exceeds them in fact. HIGH QUALITY OUTPUT AND TRANSIENT PERFORMANCE! The sine wave is truly pure, better than my utility power waveform. The frequency is dead nuts on 60Hz, not 62Hz or 58Hz like so many cheaper mainland china made units. This unit is made in Taiwan, much better quality for electrical and mechanical products made in Taiwan than in mainland China. It has much better surge load handling capability than any of the other inverters I have owned. The Sunforce 2500W unit is a nice mainland made unit for non critical circuits but if you want top of the line go for Samlex! Stay far away fom Ramsond inverters I had a terrible experience with Ramsonds quality and poor technical and customer service.Samlex even sent me scope outputs of this SA-3000K-112 unit under various load conditions before I purchased! Their technicians know what they are talking about! Im an electrical engineer and I was very impressed with them! GO SAMLEX!The folks at Boat and RV Accessories were very easy to work with and answered all my questions while making this purchase big decision. I know this unit is expensive but in this case you will get what you pay for!

The inverter arrived in a few days and has been running fine. My electronic appliances like the true sine wave and all work well. Like all inverters I have owned, the clocks do get to reading off after a few days as the frequency varies some from exactly 60Hz. My only complaint is when I equalize my battery, the inverter shuts down for high voltage at around 15.2V. My forklift battery likes to equalize at 15.6V, so when I reduce the voltage I have to equalize longer. More of an irritation than a problem.

The Samlex SA-3000K was packaged very well, with plenty of protective material and works as I anticipated. The oil-fired furnace in our basement was powered only by the Samlex and one 12volt 800 CCA car battery, fully charged, for 20 hours. Remember, that the furnace is intermittent use. As I measured the run time, it amounted to 40 minutes +- a few seconds. I was interested in the sine wave output which appeared to be quite clean. There was no unusual motor noise in the pump motor on the furnace, nor was the flame igniter circuit affected in any perceivable way. I have purchased a 210AH battery to do further testing with a greater electrical load on the Samlex. Heat produced and the cooling fan effectiveness will be my next concern. So far my only disappointment is in the stanby mode with no electrical load on the output of the Samlex, it continues to draw 2.5 to 3 amps. Approximately 36 watts. That of course would be a small expense over time, when used as emergency backup power for critical home appliances, during heavy storm conditions.
