After visiting multiple snow gear sales/rental shops, additional online research, and having used cumbersome snowshoes in the past I couldn't be happier with my new Tubbs Women's Mountaineers! I'm not hardcore by any means -I enjoy long leisurely hikes with my dogs, but it was important for me to have the heel lift as I'm in backcountry of Sierras w/ varied terrain - it helps immensely. The larger 'anaconda' crampons are great/stable on every surface I've encountered - even on the icy packed and groomed surfaces, which I was worried they might be too big for. These are EASY IN & OUT, EASILY adjustable, and DON'T fall off. They allow for nice range of motion too. Our snow's been pretty wet (Sierra cement)so I got the 25s even though I fall into the 30s recommended weight range - the 25s have been fine for our conditions and are probably more managable for me than 30s -I'm losing a few lbs anyway. Finally, they are cute but not overly girly - to me they appear less fru-fru in person than in photos. I would definitely recommend these to our friends/family/guests.

I got them at the end of the season, so didn't get to use them too much yet, but so far they are great. Light, easy to get on and off. Great traction and stability! Can't wait for next winter.

Went out hiked about 2 miles out, crusty spring snow, product performed well, I think I like the binding system more on this than on my Atlas wrap pros.
