Product Description
For many, many years you've basically had 2 choices for your Overdrive;/Distortion pedals. You could either get "Soft-clipped" Bluesy, slightly compressed, (Toob Screemer, FD2, etc etc etc etc etc etc) type Overdrive pedals... or you could get "Hard-Clipped" (OCD, Distortion+, Boss DS-1, etc etc etc etc etc etc) type Distortion pedals. What if there was a pedal that offered both? There is now the Patent Pending Fulltone PlimSoulPlimSoul has those Softer Bluesey, Compressed capabilities but also has a Second Stage that you can roll in with the turn of a little dial to add that firmer, crunchier, British output tube style Distortion.

Fulltone pedals are high quality, well thought out pedals. The Plimsoul in particular, while similar to the OCD, has more gain and it sustains forever if you want it to. If I only had one drive distrotion pedal, this would be the one. Outstanding product!

By Cameron L. Mizell
As the other reviewers have mentioned, this pedal is extremely responsive to your playing dynamics. It cleans up beautifully with a lighter touch. Rolling back the guitar's volume knob takes the dirt off but maintains your true guitar sound (unlike some other pedals that clean up but still color your tone). I often leave it on the entire song and just control the level with my volume knob. This is such a versatile OD that I use it on some gigs as a clean boost, and others for tons of gain. If I only have room for one OD on a gig, this is what comes with me. I've recommended the PlimSoul to many friends.

By Not Mozart
I've played the OCD (which the PlimSoul is most commonly and appropriately compared to) and the PlimSoul as well and I've got to tell you, the reason in my mind to get the PlimSoul over the OCD is the touch-response and ability to get dirty with only hitting the guitar harder and not having to bend down and turn the knobs. It responds to your physical approach to playing your instrument more like an amplifier than any pedal I've ever owned, and I have an original Tube Screamer, Full-Drive 2, etc. I like the versatility of tones from this pedal, it can go from slight overdrive to full-on distortion based on how hard you hit the strings. Just my opinion. The OCD is a great pedal also, but this one is just more adjustable and versatile.
