Short story:1) Construction quality and 2) having the arm bend in the middle is why this is worth it. This gives you flexible swivel, adjustable depth from the wall, and the ability to push the monitor back against the wall with it being centered against the bracket.Long story:You get the full range of motion, tilt & roll to adjust for any hanging screwups, plus the ability for it to fold back centered onto the bracket (instead of off to one side). I use on a dual Dell monitor setup. Fits a very broad range of monitors via it's mounting rails with no problem whatsoever. Pretty straightforward to mount, no extra hardware needed.Considerations on this:-Make sure it "sticks out enough from the wall" for your particular application-Although it comes with anchors, I would strongly suggest screwing directly into studs or some kind of solid offset to hold the weight-Don't forget you'll probably have to buy longer cables to accomodate a wall-mounted monitor-Play around with monitor height for a while if you can before mounting the bracket, ergonomics guidelines and your particular application (casual surfing vs. prolonged spreadsheet work) will likely affect how high you want to mount (note that for larger screens I find it's helpful to mount the top of the monitor a few inches higher than the top of your head)-This is a high-quality mount, but it's pricey too (determine what's right for your own budget)-If you're thinking dual-monitor setup, go with two of these... NOT one of the all-in-one jobs-There are tons of bracket styles, but Peerless is one of the best brands (check out their site for all the possible configurations/models, but come back here to buy as I can't find a cheaper price than amazon)-Cheaper bracket = single arm, cheap hinges that become loose over time, less tilt & roll, huge ugly adapter in back, etc.Overall I'm glad I spend the extra money. It was worth it.
