I purchased one of these motherboards to create a NAS server, media server. It has been running over a year now with no problems. The OS selected was Windows home server. Unlike others boards this one offers 4 sata ports as well as an IDE port and a 1 GB nic. The board runs very quite and cool. In standby mode when the drives spins down the power is a small 14 watts. Full operation between 35 to'47 watts. Mine runs 24/7.My son used this board to build his own media server using FreeNAS 7. Because of the 4 sata ports he decided to set up a RAID 1 with 4 2TB HARD drives. We had an old IDE DVD drive so the IDE port came in handy. Both servers, his and mine run excellent and cool. FreeNAS will spin down the drives when not needed and the OS is on a 1GB USB drive.He did need to use some effort to get the giga byte LAN nic functioning with FreeNAS. There was no problems with Windows, the drivers on the CD that came with the motherboard worked just fine.A great mb I would recommend for that special project.
