Excellent product for a Network Appliance
By Larry
This daughter board was used to add extra Ethernet ports to a custom network appliance built using Jetway barebone system (Jetway JC200S-B-JNF99FL-525) and Sophos UTM 9 software. The board is a bit tricky to install into motherboard (my connector had some pins that were a bit misaligned but it was correctable), but once you past that it is a rock solid network controller. The Intel network controller used in this board is 100% compatible with and is supported by Sophos UTM 9 software (unlike another variant of this board that contains Realtek chips, which may or may not be supported). If you are building a network router/appliance based on one of the customized Linux distribution (such as pfSense, for example) then there is a good chance this Intel controller will be supported (Sophos UTM 9 runs Linux, although I am not sure what distro).I have always had good experience with server-grade Intel network controllers (and their support by Linux) and this seems to be yet another great product.
