The Leopard Thermo-Kitty Bed has a dual thermostat, 4 watt heating unit buried within its thick premium polyfil pillow base. It warms the surface 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature when not in use. When your pet lies in the bed it warms to your pet's normal body temperature to keep them cozy warm. The washable cover comes in two colors and is attractive in any room in the house. Indoor use only, UL listed, one year warranty.

I purchased this bed for my elderly cat who is 16 years old. At first, I thought that this gift was "over the top"; however, I read that it certainly isn't for the elderly cat and that it can provide relief for ones that are arthritic. My cat is in good health and still loves to jump and play and I don't think she is arthritic, but decided to be prepared in case she develops the condition. When I introduced her to her new bed, I put a favourite catnip mat on top of the mattress and put her in. She immediately took to it and loved it so much that she kneaded the soft mattress for a while and then settled in for about 8 hours of comfort! Now, during the day, she often goes to her bed, something she never did in the past with her old one. Even though she is a tiny cat weighing about 6 pounds, I purchased the larger model and I am glad I did. I honestly think that the smaller version would have been too small. She has extra space to change positions in this bed. I also like the fact that the top can be zipped off. When I purchased the bed, I wasn't sure she would like the top on; however, when I read that it could be taken off, I decided to buy the bed because my cat could use it either way. I am delighted with my purchase and I am certain that my cat is delighted too!!!

It's very rare that I get to say this about something I've purchased...this product is exactly what I'd wanted!!I was worried when I first placed the order for this bed after viewing other customer comments & photos because they indicated that the hood flopped down & that the cushion inside was not big enough. Perhaps the K&H company has redesigned the item due to customer complaints because neither of these issues exist in the product I received.The cushion fills the inside of this bed beautifully & is far more plush than in either of the older K&H "cup" style beds I've bought in the past. The hood is made with a sturdy wire frame curving out the front of it which keeps it from flopping forward & the semi-stiff material lining the inside of the hood helps it to stay up as well. The hood stays put as a result!The overall look of the bed is quite attractive in the rich mocha brown & leopard print combination.Most importantly, my spoiled Bengal princess absolutely loves her new bed & proceeded to "fluff" the cushion the very first time she went into it, purring & chirping at me happily :). Because I bought the larger 20" version, she has much more room to sleep comfortably in it. She's about 13 lbs and the older 16" cup bed was just big enough for her to curl up into with no wiggle room.I couldn't be happier with this bed! Nice designing, K&H! I really appreciate your heated kitty beds :).

This is a good all around product. We purchased two of them and the cats fell in love with them immediately. We keep our house cool during the winter to save on heating so the cats really do use them a lot. They get pretty warm and use very little electricity - they consume about $0.70 per month each if left on for 24 hours a day. This means that I'll pay about $6 in total for the entire winter (Mid Nov - Mid March).Likes:Appearance - they look fashionableCat Adoption - our cats fell in love instantlyEfficiency - very efficient, we leave them on 24 hours a day for the catsEasy Ordering/Quick Shipping from Amazon - enough saidDislikes:Hood - Not sure if i'd buy the hood again. the hood is too flexible and if we leave it on the bed the cats just lay on top of it instead of inside of it which reduces some of the benefit since the unit won't get as warm. This is the only reason I gave the beds 4 stars instead of 5.
