I just purchased a new, but inexpensive mattress set in July of 2011 using a Groupon coupon. I thought I was getting a good deal. Instead, it was one of those "you get what you pay for moments", and I've been living that nightmare since about August of 2011. Within a month's time, coils started sticking up from the mattress. They didn't come through the cover, but you can see them when looking at my bed.You can also feel them. It's awful, but I didn't have the money to just buy another one. So it was great to be able to review this foam mattress.I've been sleeping on this mattress for a few months now. It was delivered rolled up in a tall box that weighs about 40 pounds. Because it was raining I didn't immediately take it outside to air out. After about a week I took it outside to air out. Make sure you've got some help because a queen mattress isn't small, and it isn't light (hence the 40 pound package).There was a slight chemical odor which was helped by leaving the mattress outside of a few days. Leaving it outside also allowed it to uncurl at its own pace.This is definitely a firm mattress, but it's exactly how I like my bed. Combine the firm mattress with a soft pillow, and I'm in heaven. But, if you like less firm mattresses, then this is not the one for you.My original mattress that I replaced was on the thinner side, and this one is thicker, at 8 inches. It's not going to have you sleeping high up, but that's not one of my priorities.Add to this a mattress cover, and you're good to go. Or at least I am.

We really needed something, either a new mattress or something to go over it. My wife and I decided to give the Silhouette Memory Foam a try. First, it came rolled up, and while not "light", it was also not as heavy as you would expect. I was concerned that being shipped this way that the mattress would not lay flat on the bed. My fears were unfounded.The comfort level this brings to an older mattress is amazing. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a more comfortable mattress without wanting to spend a lot of money on a full mattress replacement. Works great!

So this is my second Memory Foam mattress purchased form Amazon. Around a year and a half ago, we ordered the Sleep Innovations 12-Inch Allure Memory Foam Mattress with Deluxe Cover, Queen.Prior to that, we had a pillow top mattress that we were disappointed with and we knew we wanted to try the Memory Foam. I was a little hesitant to order a mattress from Amazon -- only because it's such a large item to order site unseen. But my delivery experience was exceptional and we love our mattress. So when we decided to replace the mattress in our guest room, we looked again to Amazon.This mattress is 8" memory foam and is a little firmer than our previous order. The mattress arrived similar to our last order: compressed in a very small box for the size of it. Picture folding the mattress up, like a piece of paper, into quarters - that was the size of the box. You have to be careful when cutting open the box so that you don't slice into the mattress.Once you remove the mattress from the box, it takes a day or two to de-compress. It also has a plastic like smell at first, but that also goes away after a couple of days. After we let it settle into it's regular shape, we laid it perfectly on our box spring, and find it's a perfect fit. We are once again happy with the whole experience: easy to order, shipment was fast and easy, product is great.
