The unique design of the new three-sided diamond sharpener offers a 3-step sharpening system in the palm of your hand. The handle and gauntlet are larger and the steel staff is 3/4-inch wide on all three sides and 12-inch in length. So convenient anyone can do it. When a knife has gone dull, use the coarse surface to bring back the edge, the medium surface to sharpen your new edge, then finish on the fine surface to make it razor-sharp. Simply hold your knife at a low angle, begin at the top of the sharpener with the base of your knife and pull your blade downward out to the tip. Turn your knife over repeat upward. Let the remarkable power of the diamonds do the work for you. Start with slight pressure and lighten up on each grit as you go. Cleaning is a snap. Wash with soap and water or use a light weight oil to remove the excess out of the diamond grit.

I have had one of these for more than 20 years and it is far and away the best tool in the drawer for routine knife care. It is capable of putting a new edge on a really abused and dull knife but that isn't its strong point. Knives should never be allowed to get that dull and that is the strong point of this tool. Regular use will keep all your blades in the best possible condition. Highly recommended at any price.
